Sedation Dentistry

Why sedation dentistry?

At Hello Kids Dental & Orthodontics, we're committed to making your child's dental appointment a success. If you have a child who is particularly anxious about visiting the dentist, sedation dentistry is always an option.

Whether your child is anxious about a single procedure or simply their next visit, sedation can help put them comfortable at ease. Change your child's relationship with the dental chair, with mild sedation that can ease fears before a procedure begins.

Your child can receive the following benefits from sedation dentistry:

- Ease of Treatment
- Comfort While Experts Work
- Pain Relief
- Dentists Work Faster
- Preserved Peace of Mind

How does pediatric sedation dentistry work?

We offer several sedation options, so that you can choose which one works best for your child. Our goal is to help your child relax during their visit, often through laughing gas. Delivered through a mask placed over the nose, laughing gas starts working almost immediately. Laughing gas is blended with gas to help your child feel more comfortable in seconds.

Our sedation options include:

- Laughing Gas: Laughing gas helps significantly reduce fears and discomfort. It’s best for mild to moderate anxiety, and will produce a euphoric effect through a breathing mask.
- Oral Conscious Sedation: Oral conscious sedation offers a sedative that will help your child relax before any procedure. Easy and effective, it allows children to receive the care they need without any of the worry.
- IV Sedation: If your child need something more than oral conscious sedation to fully relax in the dental chair, your pediatric dentist may recommend IV sedation. We use a topical anesthetic to numb the area where the needle will be inserted, and then the IV sedation will take effect, allowing your child to relax and even fall asleep.
